When it comes to cars and the gas they emit into the atmosphere, we know that it’s harmful and toxic.
When it comes to energy efficiency and going green for a cleaner planet, we know that electric and battery-operated cars are the way forward.
In South Africa, we have already established a greener platform with big car manufacturers such as Toyota, BMW, Lexus, Volvo and Mini who have unveiled their own take on the electric car of the future. There is well one big car maker that we are still waiting for to release their version of an electric car – Volkswagen. German car manufacturer Volkswagen sold 89 353 vehicles in 2019, establishing it as one of our top sellers and truly “The People’s Car”.
Well, say hello to the new Volkswagen ID series. The VW ID series is a family of all-electric battery-powered cars from Volkswagen. The I.D. (Intelligent Design) series is the first series of electric cars from VW built from the ground up to be electric vehicles.
The ID.4 can be pre-ordered now, and with amazing features and technology, I know that this car will change the future of everyday transportation. Some of the amazing features include the way your ID.4 communicates with you. You will find a light that runs across the dashboard of your car and that uses glowing visual and acoustic cues to telegraph incoming calls, brake warnings, charge status and more. You can also say goodbye to tangled cords because the car comes out with wireless charging and App-Connect with wireless capabilities. The way you start your car is also a new way Volkswagen makes it interesting for the consumer. Sensing your presence, it intuitively starts when you have your key fob, and you sit in the driver’s seat.
The ID.4 comes standard with a 12” Touchscreen Display. The touchscreen works with voice control and is equipped with smart features like interactive navigation, climate control and more.
We are not sure when the Volkswagen ID.4 will be available in South Africa, but we certainly can’t wait to take this one for a test drive.
