Technology is part of our everyday lives. From ordering your groceries and having it delivered within 60 minutes, to ordering your future spouse online. Dating apps. The chances are that you, or at the very least someone you know, has given it a go.

There’s a famous quote by George Carlin: “Here’s all you have to know about men and women: women are crazy, men are stupid. And the main reason women are crazy is that men are stupid.”

It’s really not that difficult guys, all we’re asking for is some semblance of respect, some open communication and basically, to know what your intentions are going in. Is that really so difficult?

What are your opinions on this matter? Scrolling through countless photos, the best filters used, with little to no bio. How on earth are you supposed to find someone that you want to share a coffee/drink with, never mind an entire meal? But that’s just the thing, isn’t it? Most people on dating apps these days aren’t even thinking that far.

Maybe I’m biased because I’m a woman, shocking I know, but it seems like these days men are using dating apps as a virtual smorgasbord of who they’ll be spending the night with… if you know what I mean. Wink wink, nudge nudge. The strange thing is that once you’ve matched with a guy (man might be the wrong word here) and the conversation is flowing, he automatically assumes that, once you have your first date, he’s already done enough groundwork to get “the prize”, so to speak.

What does an intelligent, attractive, independent woman have to do these days to get some stimulating conversation and hopefully, a potentially wholesome relationship?

Oh, how I long for the days of yore. Even just 20 years ago, when men were still gentlemen and ladies still cherished.
